PMISETTIMEZONE(3)        Library Functions Manual       PMISETTIMEZONE(3)

NAME         top

       pmiSetTimezone, pmiSetZoneinfo - set the source timezone for a
       LOGIMPORT archive

C SYNOPSIS         top

       #include <pcp/pmapi.h>
       #include <pcp/import.h>

       int pmiSetTimezone(const char *value);
       int pmiSetZoneinfo(const char *value);

       cc ... -lpcp_import -lpcp

Perl SYNOPSIS         top

       use PCP::LogImport;

       pmiSetTimezone($value);

Python SYNOPSIS         top

       from pcp import pmi

       log.pmiSetTimezone(value)

DESCRIPTION         top

       As part of the Performance Co-Pilot Log Import API (see
       LOGIMPORT(3)), pmiSetTimezone sets the POSIX timezone string in
       the current context to value, which is stored in the archive la‐
       bel. In the absence of a call to pmiSetTimezone the source time‐
       zone defaults to the timezone of the localhost.

       pmiSetZoneinfo sets the Olson (tzdata) timezone name for the
       archive, providing higher-fidelity timezone information than the
       POSIX string alone. If value is NULL, pmiSetZoneinfo auto-detects
       the Olson name for the current local timezone from the system
       timezone database; if no Olson name can be determined the call is
       a silent no-op. Passing an explicit Olson name such as Ameri‐
       ca/New_York stores it directly without any lookup. The zoneinfo
       string is written into v3 archives alongside the POSIX timezone
       string.

DIAGNOSTICS         top

       Both functions return zero on success, or a negative value that
       can be turned into an error message by calling pmiErrStr(3).
